The war on drugs is a war on people

I thought this was really interesting.

Anti-Sophist

Some of you may or may not know this. I am not a smoker (as in the green cannibas variety), and haven’t been for almost 2 decades. In my life time I’ve smoked what seemed like truckloads of weed. Through all of that I had what I thought were plenty of good reasons to smoke, and since then have had plenty of good reasons to stop, so I’m no apologist for those who do smoke.

I do not however understand how anyone can claim some sort of moral high ground by advocating throwing people who do use this plant recreationally into a concrete box away from their family and friends where they may be physically attacked, mentally traumatized and even raped for doing something that is (against the law).

To have the stance that such a thing is acceptable is a sign of a few possibilities in my opinion.

HOLY CRAP I’M A LIBERTARIAN!

So I have never been much into politics, especially after the Gore travesty….

After getting nowhere with the bombardment of Hillary and Trump, I found this crazy test that pairs you with the candidate that would actually do the things YOU WANT! ¬†What an insane idea!! ¬† It’s not like the government is a democracy or anything….the President is God right?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

When I talk about Gary Johnson all I hear referenced is one interview he did….

Check this one out if you want to know what he really believes in. ¬†Then comment who your favorite foreign leader is….. because that would never be a loaded question aimed at getting a response that will be pounced upon! ¬†ha ha ha

The Pledge of Allegiance

Would this upset anyone?

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, standing together, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Do people know that “under god” was added later?

Here is the original by baptist minister Francis Bellamy in October 1892 for a children’s magazine. It was used to honor the flag at the 400th anniversary of Columbus coming to the Americas.

“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

In 1923, it looked like this:

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

I will always stand, face the flag, put my right hand over my heart and recite the pledge of allegiance. ¬†I will even say “under god” because I do not want to be offensive to those that have faith. However, the Pledge of Allegiance to me is a way to show respect to my country and appreciate how fortunate I am to live in the United States of America.

It wasn’t until 1954, that “under god” was added it Why? ¬†Isn’t the whole world “under god” for those who believe in a higher power? ¬†Once again, this leaves me totally confused.

Take the challenge

To believe or not believe…that is the question. ¬†Is there an answer? ¬†Unfortunately, there are so many answers to this question that it proves itself to be unbelievable.

I have been trying to get this blog out…which I am probably doing incorrectly because I have been a stay at home mom for the past 16 years and have no idea how to use this freaking technology! ¬†Bear with me…I will figure it out eventually.

Last night I was discussing politics and religion. ¬†I posted a picture of the news ¬†with all the “JESUS” signs in the background.¬†¬† I DON’T UNDERSTAND IT and there does not seem to be anyone willing to give me some reasoning behind religion being part of anything other than personal faith.

I then thought about the song “Imagine” by the Beatles and realized that’s exatly what I am talking about!

Please consider it.  Please come together as one.  We can all believe whatever we want to believe when it comes to god, a high power, or nothing at all.  This should not divide us but instead we should embrace our diversity and enjoy each other.

I sound so Idealistic but I DON’T CARE!!! ¬† What is wrong with dreaming, hoping and working towards a world that is FANTASTIC because we are all in it together!!

How does religion fit into politics?

jesus

Is Jesus running for president?  I am confused.

As I get ready to watch the debate for President 2016 I am so disappointed. ¬†There are signs in the background about Jesus…what does Jesus have to do with the election of the President of the United States? ¬†I would like to think that where our government is concerned, it would be a conflict of interest for a President to have a bias towards a specific religion. ¬†With religion being so important today, how can anyone decide who to vote for based on religious beliefs? ¬†This would only work if there was a candidate that represented each religion. ¬† Then we would need to represent each race….age….color….gets out of control. ¬†In other words, religion should not have anything to do with the election. ¬†The election should be about the issues and how the candidate will handle them.

Check out some information regarding Thomas Jefferson. ¬†Can’t get more American than Thomas Jefferson…one of our FOUNDING FATHERS! ¬†Many will be surprised when they find about¬†Jefferson if they looked up his religious history!!

So again, I am challenging the masses to support their religious beliefs or lack of. ¬†I am going to question and doubt until someone can come up with an answer other than faith. Every religion depends on faith…who is right? ¬†Can anyone ever really know? Does patriotism correlate with religion?

To blog or not to blog…

Ha! ¬†I have no idea if I am even posting anything on this website. ¬†My basic intent is to find out opinions from people all over the world regarding their religious beliefs or lack of. ¬†I have my own opinions and thoughts, but being agnostic, I just have absolutely no idea if there is a higher power or not? Science explains quite a bit for me. ¬†I just cannot wrap my ¬†head around the bible. ¬†A book written about events written thousands of years after it happened…after what happened? ¬†How does anyone know? ¬† Shoot….the New Testament was only written a few hundred years after Christ and I still have a hard time accepting the truth in that!
